Blueberry Blast

Blueberries, the official fruit of the state of New Jersey, are just coming into season, and the state’s prepared to celebrate!

First up, on Saturday June 25, Whitesbog Village will host the 28th Annual Whitesbog Blueberry Festival. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature Pinelands folk music, food, walking and wagon tours, blueberry picking, local crafts and artists, lectures, children’s activities, and an old-time general store. On June 26, Hammonton will hold the 25th Red, White, and Blueberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy live music, a classic car show, arts and crafts, a blueberry pie eating contest, and a blueberry bake off. Admission and parking are both free. The festival will be held at Hammonton High School on Old Forks Road in Hammonton. Visit for more information.

Can’t make it to the festivals? Pick up some berries at your local farmers’ market or take an afternoon and pick your own!
