March 18, 2011

By Brianne Harrison Moore

The days are longer and the weather has warmed up considerably, so now’s a great time to get out, dress up, and have some fun while supporting some of the state’s hard-working animal shelters.

On March 19, St. Hubert’s will host its annual Canine Cotillion at Stone House at Stirling Ridge in Warren. The evening will be emceed by Maria Milito of Q104.3 and will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner, and live and silent auctions. Guests are welcome with or without a dog (limit one dog per guest); ties and tiaras are optional for dogs. For more information, call 973.377.7094 or visit

Don’t feel like dressing up? Do you love hockey? Then check out Pucks & Paws night on March 25. The Trenton Devils will be playing and raising awareness for pet adoption. Bring friends and family and help support the Jersey Shore Animal Center. Adoptable animals will be at the game and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to JSAC. Tickets are $15 each. Call JSAC at 732.920.1600 or the Trenton Devils at 609.599.9500 or visit for more info.

Finally, Easel Animal Rescue League will be holding a Casino Night at the Trenton Country Club on March 26 to benefit the organization and their efforts to build a regional animal shelter in Mercer County. The evening will feature a gourmet buffet, silent auction, prizes, and, of course, games like black jack, craps, roulette, and poker. Each $75 ticket includes $60 in chips.
