‘Madame Erzuli,’ by France Garrido

By Brianne Harrison Moore

In honor of Women’s History Month, s.h.e. Gallery in Boonton presents the group art show Shequality. The opening reception will be held this Friday, March 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. The show (free to the public) will run through April 17 and features sculptures, paintings, and collages by Judy Chicago, Monica Litvany, Laura Gerry, France Garrido, Miriam Stern, Raul Villarreal, Ingrid, Capozzoli Flinn, Shoshana Kertesz, and Jennifer Levine.

S.h.e. Gallery (the first three letters stand for ‘supporting human equality’) is dedicated to supporting organizations that exemplify social justice. To that end, 10% of the gallery’s revenue is donated to CARE, which fights global poverty; Women for Women International, which supports women in war-torn regions; and Through the Flower, a feminist art organization that educates the public about the importance of art and women’s achievements.

The gallery is located at 819 Main Street in Boonton. For more information, visit or call 973.335.0943.
