Local Harvest

February 8, 2011

By Brianne Harrison Moore

While most farmers’ markets have gone into hibernation, Slow Food Northern New Jersey is braving the winter’s chill and holding its third annual Local Harvest this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. (snow date, February 13).

Local farmers and food artisans will gather to sell seasonal fruits and vegetables, grass-fed meats, eggs, cheese, breads, teas, and prepared foods. Attendees can stock up on seasonal fare, support local growers and producers, and learn more about community-supported agriculture.

Local Harvest will be held at The Cultural Center, 300 Mendham Rd., Morris Twp. For more information, contact Margaret Noon at slowfoodnnj@yahoo.com or call 908.654.3242.
