Dining with David Burke

If you’re looking to add to your winter reading list, you may want to pick up a copy of Teresa Politano’s new book, Celebrity Chefs of New Jersey: Their Stories, Recipes, and Secrets, which was published in November by Rutgers University Press. In its pages, you’ll l earn which demanding chef tied his cooks to the stove by their apron strings and which one was a picky eater as a child, and then you can try your hand at one of their signature recipes.

If you really want something special, you can pick up a signed copy of the book this weekend. Politano is hosting a book signing followed by one of David Burke’s Sunday Suppers on Sunday, January 23 starting at 3 p.m. Sit and dine with the author and one of the state’s most celebrated chefs (who is, naturally, profiled in the book). A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Culinary Education Center in Asbury Park, a collaborative culinary program of Brookdale Community College and the Monmouth County Vocational School District.
