Aromatherapy for the Cure

October 8, 2010

By Brianne Harrison

Products supporting breast cancer research are not new, or difficult to find. This month, especially, pink ribbons abound, on everything from bumper stickers to designer wear. Decléor (the company that makes the recently blogged and loved face serum) is getting in on the act this year by launching Breast Cancer Awareness Aromatherapy Kits. Somewhat refreshingly, the kits do not sport ribbons, but they do pack a lot of great products in a small package, and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to CEW’s Cancer and Careers.

There are four kits to choose from: Rose D’Orient for sensitive skin, Angelique, Iris for all skin types, and Aromessence Neroli for mature skin. I tried Rose D’Orient and was delighted. The kit includes the soothing serum (which, I have to agree, is great), Harmonie Gentle Soothing Cream, a tiny vial of perfume, Aroma Confort Sytème Corps Moisturizing Body Milk, and an aromatherapy guide. The serum and soothing cream were wonderful on my face and smelled fresh and floral, not fake and old-fashioned, like many flowery moisturizers. The body milk was my favorite—it made my skin feel soft and smooth without leaving any greasy feeling.

Decleor’s products are all plant based and made from the finest essential oils to help rebalance and re-energize your body and senses. The kits are available at or at Nordstrom at the Mall at Short Hills.
