Brow Beaten

June 18, 2010

By Brianne Harrison

There are some lucky people out there who are born with perfect, shapely eyebrows. The rest of us, however, need a little help now and then—a task that can be daunting (am I plucking too much?) or expensive if you have to constantly head to the spa for a wax. But recently (thankfully!) I was introduced to a nifty little kit from Japonesque that makes keeping your brows neat much easier.

The Japonesque brow kit is compact (small enough to fit easily into a purse or weekend bag) and includes brow powders in two colors, wax and gel to keep unruly hairs in line, a brow brush, an applicator for the wax, and quite possibly the best set of brow tweezers I’ve ever used. No more struggling to grab those tiny hairs, only to have them slip out of the tweezers’ grasp! If you’re not sure how thin you should go, or what shape will suit your face best, there are also three stencils to help guide you. The whole kit—which comes packaged in a sleek compact, retails for $28 at japonesque.com.

If you’re not in the market for a whole kit, just for something to keep things neat in between waxes, Japonesque also has a line of those amazing tweezers, in fun, funky designs. Each pair has a hand-filed precision tip and an enamel coating. Should your tweezers ever start to lose their edge, you can send them to Japonesque and have then reconditioned for free. The Artisan Tweezer retails for $20 on ulta.com or at japonesque.com.
